English Cucumber Information

English cucumber is a slicing cucumber cultivar which is generally eaten raw and frequently used in salads. It has a thin skin and is often consumed without need to peel the skin. Also known for its non-bitterness and having very little to no seeds at all, the English cucumber is also considered a burpless cucumber. This is to say, it does not cause digestive issues that trigger burping in some individuals as occurs with regular cucumber. The cucumber is also known by its other names of seedless cucumber, European cucumber, burpless cucumber and hothouse cucumber.

Burpless Cucumber Information

Burpless Cucumber is a cucumber that causes little to no burping after consumption. Lack of burping has been associated with cucumber varieties which contain low cucurbitacin, a biochemical compound responsible for bitterness in cucumbers. This same compound has been linked to gastronomical distress in some people which triggers burping. Burpless cucumbers are generally milder in taste, seedless and easier on the human digestive system. There are different varieties of burpless cucumbers, most of which are hybrid cultivars especially developed to be as burpless as possible.

White Eggplant Information

Edible white eggplant is technically a fruit commonly known as a vegetable which is similar in all aspects, save for pigmentation, to the all familiar purple eggplant. The white eggplant comes in two species – edible and inedible. While the edible eggplant follows regular culinary applications, the inedible white eggplant is primarily used for ornamental purposes. These two types of eggplants have very close resemblance and can be cultivated in home gardens according to their different varieties.
