Mr Sauce Peri-Peri Beef Short Ribs

5-6 Servings ~ 30 - 40 minutes
  • 2 kg Beef short ribs
  • Mr Sauce Peri Peri Marinade
  • 1 tbsp garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 medium onion, sliced
If you’re like me and love a little bit of heat in your food from time to time then you’re sure going to enjoy this. Continuing on my journey to taste and test run the Mr Sauce marinades, today I’m trying out their Peri Peri Marinade.

Their Smokey BBQ Marinade which I used on some pork belly was outstanding! Everyone absolutely enjoyed it. The Peri Peri didn’t disappoint either. It packs just the right amount of heat (well at least for my palate!). Some heat hits the back of your throat as you tuck in and it’s nothing but great flavours going on in your mouth. If you however don’t take too well to heat in food then you can use less marinade.

Again, like the smokey BBQ marinade, the Peri Peri marinade is made from scratch by the manufacturer and seeps through the meat easily, imparting some great flavour. I marinated for just 2 hours and it worked well for me. If you’d like more flavour you can marinate for 8 to 24hours (in the refrigerator of course).

So let’s get to how I made these Peri-Peri Beef short ribs. By the way, Mr Sauce is currently running a competition that’s ending on the 31st of December. You can find all the details here.

Do This

  1. Get your ingredients together. Put the short ribs in your marinating container/bowl. Season with salt then add the onion, garlic and the Mr Sauce Peri Peri Marinade (be as generous as you see fit and as much as you can handle heat!).
  2. Gently massage the marinade onto each piece. Close and marinate for a minimum 2hrs up to overnight.
  3. Braai or grill the short ribs at 180 degrees Celsius until done (about 30-40 minutes in the oven, depending on the thickness of your ribs). Enjoy!
